Toy Story Layout

This the playground at the hotel that we stayed in.  It was set up like Andy's room.  I tried really hard to make the title look like a piece of paper that a kid would write on and tape to their door.  I used Old West to cut the paper and Pooh Font for the title.  I distressed the edges of the paper.  I used Toy Story for the green army man.  The paper is from Hobby Lobby.

Hollywood Studios Layout

I thought I'd share a one page layout today.  This is the "title" page to all my Hollywood Studios pages.  I used clip art for the title.  The flower paper is from Creative Imaginations.  The Magic Memories is a felt border that I got at convention.  I used the journaling box to tell everyone's favorite ride from that park!  The mouse head brad is from Queen & Co.

Disney Layout

I have been working on my Disney album, very slowly, but working on it.  Today, I took pictures of all the pages that I have done so far and I will post them a few days a week!  Let me start by saying that I use Creative Memories (CM) albums.  I still have the old ones that are not a true 12x12, so I have to trim down all my paper!  These are the pages of the hotel that I did.  I really liked the way they turned out.  The bakground paper is Creative Imaginations.  The cardstock is all CM.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the film strips.  I cut the strip, embossed it, and then used white chalk ink to stencil with.  This was a very long process; the die only cuts three frames at a time.  The black stars are SU chipboard colored with SU ink.  The title is from Pooh Font.  The photo corners on the journaling box are CTMH.

Thanksgiving Card

I have another Thanksgiving card to share.  The stamps are CTMH.  I used the rock and roll method using SU ink. The paper is from my scraps!

You Rock Birthday Card

My son has a birthday party to attend tonight.  Boy cards are hard, but one for a 9 year old is even worse!  Since I had already made a "You Rock" card earlier, I decided to stick with that!  This card can also be used for Paper Playtime's You Rock Challenge.  I used Everyday Paper Dolls for the boy and guitar.  I tried to make the boy look like my son's friend.  To help with that, I inked his hair with Colorbox chalk ink.  I used Peachy Keen Stamps for the face.  The saying from Paper Trey Inc. and the ink is SU.  All my paper was scraps!

Thankful Card

I made a Thankful card this past weekend.  It was really a very simple card.  All the paper and flowers are CM.  The stamp and ink are CTMH.  I used my SU punch for the border.

Gotcha Day Card

Yesterday was Gotcha Day at our house.  Gotcha Day is the day that we took custody of our son, Travis.  We celebrate just like a bithday, but on a smaller scale.  This is the card that I made for him.  I used the Smiley Cards cartridge to cut the guitar.  I added embroidry thread for the strings.  The stamp is Paper Trey Inc.  The ink is SU.  Most all the paper is scraps except the black and white checkered and it is from the Paper Studio.  The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Card Challenge

It's time for the Wednesday card challenge over on Paper Crafting Mania.  Normally, I don't get the sketch done, but today's sketch just spoke to me!  The red cardstock is CM.  I used the SU petals-a-plenty embossing folder.  The green and ecru carstock is DCWV.  I used SU Bells & Boughs stamp set with SU ink!  The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Z Fold Card

A Z-Fold Card was the card sketch over at Paper Crafting Mania today.  My Pink Stamper's challenge for today was to do something Halloween or Fall.  I decided to combine the two and make a Halloween z-fold card.  I had never made one of these before, but it looked really cool.  I just used some scrap black cardstock in case it didn't work.  I used my SU Spider Web embossing folder and then I glimmered misted the front and back fold.  (I made my own glimmer mist using SU's Frost White glimmer paint and alcohol.)  I cut my spider at 2 1/2" from Doodlecharms.  After I got the card together, I decided that the spider needed to be a little more sturdy, so I cut another one and then glued it on top.  The Happy Halloween came from a piece of paper that I had; I cut the words out.  Added some string and googly eyes and I was done!
I used a library clip to keep the card closed while I took the picture!
The card unfolded.
Standing up on my table.

I'm a Winner!

I was doing my normal blog hopping routine this morning and when I clicked on the Fantabulous Cricut blog, I saw that I was a winner!  YAY!  I've never won before on any of the blogs that I enter!  I won a $20 gift certificate to Stamping Boutique. Thanks to all the fantabulous ladies over there that give me inspiration every week!

Snowman Christmas Card

I made this card for the challenge on My Pink Stamper.  For this challenge we were to do something winter related.  Now, I live in Texas so snow is a rare thing here, but he made for a great Christmas card!  I used Doodlecharms for the snowman.  The stamp and ink are SU.  The glitter is Crystal Snow that I got at Michael's.  All the paper is from my scraps.

Gingerbread Man Card

I made this card for the challenge over on Fantabulous Cricut.  It's National Baking Month and you were to make a project with something to do with baking.  I choose to make a Christmas card.  I just love the look of gingerbread men.  I used From My Kitchen for the gingerbread man.  He was cut at 3".  All the paper came from my scraps and I hand drew the white lines on.  I used my Spellbinders to make the tag.  It's a CTMH stamp with SU ink.  The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Cars Layout

Let me jsut say that this layout hates me!  I had an awful time trying to get the layers to cut and not tear.  I cut Lightening McQueen about 8-10 times, Mater and the Cars emblem twice.  Then the lighting was not right in my scrap room and it took all day to be able to take the picture and then I could not get the page straight in the picture!  After 12-15 takes, this is as good as it is going to get!  After all the frustration with the cuts, I have no idea what paper I used!  It took 3 sheets of red before I got one to cut and 2 for the brown in Mater.  The black and white are just 2" squares cut with my trimmer and the road was cut using my CM decorative trimmer.  Mater and LM were cut at the same size 3 1/2".

Fall Card

It's swap time over at Paper Crafting Mania!  I made this card for the swap and also for Paper Playtime's Challenge!  (I like doing two things at once!)  I found a lady who was clearing out some of her extra stamp sets.  I bought this CTMH set for $7!  (I love a deal!)  I just had to play with it.  The ink is SU.  I used the rock and roll method for the leaves, which was quite a challenge because I mostly have Stampin' Spots.  The pattern paper is Recollections and the ribbon is Offray.  The buttons are from my stash.

Challenge Card-Halloween

I made a Halloween card yesterday.  I made it for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time.  Her challenge was to make a project using NO machines.  You had to go old school on this one!  After I got the card made; I realized that it would also work for Paper Play Time's Fall Challenge this week.  I killed 2 birds with one stone this week!  (Told ya I didn't like birds!)  The printed paper is Flair Designs, all the cardstock is SU.  The ribbon is also SU.  The stamp and the ink is CTMH.  The black pearls are Queen and Co.

MPS Challenge-Bird

Robyn over at My Pink Stamper is doing some challenges today.  I decided that I'd play along.  The first challenge was to make something using a bird.  Now, I'm not really into the "bird craze" that is going on right now.  I'd prefer not to have birds on any of my stuff, but I tried.  I used Very Merry Tags and got a jump on my Christmas tag making!  I cut the tag at 4".  Then I cut the layer in red, then again in brown and cut the brown to fit onto the red.  I ran the red thru my CB using the D'vine Swirls folder.  I also inked the edges of everything using Colorbox chalk ink.  The green paper is DCWV, the brown is Coordinations and the red came from my scraps.  ****I have played with this all afternoon.  If you saw my first post, I apologize, that was awful!  I went back and sprayed the image with shimmer mist.  I made the shimmer mist using SU's Frost White Shimmer Paint and alcohol.  I also added a bow to the top.

"Hot" Card

The card swap this month over at Paper Crafting Mania was a "hot" card. Since I live in Texas and it's been 107 here, I used the sun for my "hot"! The sun came from Life's A Beach. I used a Peachy Keen stamp for the face and inked the edge of the circle with SU ink. I added Stickles for some glimmer! The clouds came from Mickey and Friends. The stamp is Paper Trey Inc. The best part-I used all scraps to make this card!

For the next 4 days, I'll be on retreat! I should have lots of pages to share next week!

Anniversary Card

My parents have an anniversary coming up. Luckily, I remembered that this is their 45th! I made the card and then I needed flowers (or something) to go on the left side. After looking for a week and many different stores, I finally took white flowers and colored them with my own ink! I think that it turned out well! As a matter of fact, I'm going to buy more of the white flowers so I can color my own more often! The cardstock is SU and the printed paper is My Mind's Eye. The Happy Anniversary is CTMH and the numbers are from a set that my friend Sharon has. The flowers are colored with Colorbox and SU ink. I used Spellbinders to cut the scalloped shape.

Paper Bag Album

For Shelly's birthday, I made her a paper bag album. The paper is Bo Bunny.
For the front page, I used Don Juan and Sweet Treats to cut the title. The 40th is chipboard that I inked with SU ink. I cut the scalloped square with Storybook.

These pages were super simple! The right side is pre-printed and the left is DCWV cardstock with the scallop borders done with a Fiskers punch. I wanted Family on this page and I didn't have a stamp, so I used a handwritten label. The label was a punch from SU.
Next is the Friends page. If you untie the ribbon, the gold paper will accordian done to hold more pictures! I cut Friends with Mickey Font. The right side is pre-printed!

Once again, super simple pages! The left side used a Marth Stewart border punch and some CM flowers. The right side used a frame from cut Storybook using CM paper and a vellum tag from CM.

The left side is pre-printed with a little bling added for effect! The right side is DCWV cardstock.

This is the back cover. These were all tags from the paper pack. I added some bling.

These are the two tags that I inserted into the pockets on two of the pages. Once again, super simple!

Happy Birthday Shelly!

Today is my friend Shelly's birthday! This is the card that I made for her. I used DCWV printed paper with CM cardstock. The stamps are CTMH and the ink is SU. The ribbon came from Joann's. I used Very Merry Tags to cut the tag with.

Owl Card

I was going to show y'all a card that I did Saturday at a CTMH class, but I can't find it. So, I'll show you a card that I did at a SU class on Friday instead! Now, those of you who know me, know that I really don't like the bird craze. Nothing against the little creatures, I just don't care for them. However, I really liked this card! Mr. Owl is one big punch, so that made for lots of punches! But isn't he cute? Everything on this card is SU.

Orlando Layout

I have been putting off starting my Orlando album. I was kind of waiting on the Toy Story cartridge to come out, but I gave up! Here is the front page for that album. We won't even talk about how long I worked on this page! I used 6 different cartridges! The Mickey was cut at 4" and the Sponge Bob at 3". I also used the hide feature on my gypsy to make the ticket.

I tried to take a close up picture so that you could see the "texture" of the roller coaster, the paper is from CM and was cut at 9 1/2". Also, so you can see ALL the layers on Sponge Bob! He took the longest to do!
I used all CM printed paper. The red is SU and everything else is from my scraps! The roller coaster and ticket are from Summer Vacation, Mickey is from Mickey & Friends, Sponge Bob from Sponge Bob, Orlando from Don Juan, Spring Break from Pooh Font, and 2010 from Mickey Font.

Flower Card

This is a card that I made a couple of weeks ago. I used some old BoBunny paper that I have (and that I LOVE!) along with navy blue cardstock. The pink flower were cut out of CM cardstock using Plantin Schoolbook. The stamp is from my new stamp set from Scrappy Moms (have I said how much I love this new stamp set!) stamped with SU white craft ink. The white pearls are Recollections.

Christmas in July (August!)

Over on Paper Crafting Mania we do a swap each month. July's theme was Christmas. This is the card that I made for the swap. The paper is DCWV. The Merry Christmas was a SU stamp then embossed with gold embossing powder from Joann's. The other stamp is CTMH with SU ink. The poinsetta is a dimensional from Recollections. Then I inked the edges with Colorbox Chalk Ink. This is the first time that I have made a shutter card without it being one from a class.

Happy 60th Birthday-Whataburger!

I know that I haven't been posting, but I have been busy and so has my Cricut! My daughter works for Whataburger. Tuesday, Whataburger turned 60! You can't have a birthday without a BIG party, so Whataburger gave away free burgers and each store was to choose a theme and decorate for the big event! My daughter, my husband, me, her general manager, another friend, and my Cricut were very BUSY! I have to say, I'm so glad that it is over! There was orange and brown paper everywhere in my craft room and cardboard boxes for the cutouts all over the house! Here are some pictures of the finished products! We used Old West for all the shapes! The paper is from the Paper Studio and CM and I used Chalk Ink from Colorbox to give the images some depth!

My husband drew the cowboys onto cardboard and then we cut them out with scissors then painted them black. The wanted posters are the managers! The poster is a cut in Old West and then we distressed the edges! On the far right, Amanda made a sign for the tea! You can also see some of the shapes hanging from the ceiling. We used rope from Home Depot for the garland! This was my favorite image! I think that this area turned out really well!
Amanda made wagon wheels for the ketchup baskets that sit on the tables!

These are made from cardboard. Too bad the Cricut can't cut really big shapes!

This is the condiment cart made to look like a covered wagon or at least the best we could make it look like one! You can see more shapes hanging from the ceiling.

This is Kimberly. (Isn't she cute!) She helped us with the projects! This was the girls outfit. You can see some of the cacti that we cut out in the background. Amanda went to her grandparent's and got her saddle along with empty feedbags and hay!
This is Amanda at the counter and ready to take orders! She worked really hard on this and I am very proud of her! All the ideas were hers even though we helped in implementing them!

Anniversary Card

Today is my 22nd Wedding Anniversary! (Can I really be old enough to have been married that long?) Neither Robert nor I drink coffee, but he has a cup of tea at work each morning to start his day off. While blog hopping the other day, I came across Scrappy Moms Stamps and I did something that I NEVER do-I looked at the stamps, loved them, and ordered them that day! (I always have to think about it for awhile and usually end up not ordering.) When I saw the cup of tea sentiment, I knew I how I was going to use it! The paper is all SU. (except the vellum) The tea cup was cut at 2" from A Child's Year, the steam came from Graphically Speaking and I used a Spellbinders for the tag. The inking was done with Colorbox Chalk ink and the sentiment was stamped in SU ink. The ribbon is American Crafts.

Color Challenge Card

I was trying to do the color challenge over on Paper Crafting Mania this week by following a sketch. I don't know about you, but my cards never look as good as the sketch! I either don't pay attention to all the little details or I just don't take the time to do them! But, here is the card that I did for the challenge. The colors were blue, green and white. My pattern paper is DCWV, the white card stock is SU. The ink and stamp are also SU. I inked the edges with chalk ink from Colorbox. The flower is Prima and the ribbon is American Crafts. I used Storybook to cut the shapes.

Card Sketch Wednesday

This is the card that I made for the card sketch at Paper Crafting Mania. I used a double sided piece of paper that I got at Costco. The card stock, ribbon and ink are all SU and the stamp is CTMH.

Scratch & Sniff Instructions

Recipe:

We stamped the whole image as second generation stamps. Then we used the rock & roll method around the edges of the cherries. Next, you mix 1 tsp of Kool Aid to 1 1/4 tsp of embossing powder. You stamp the cherries with Versamark then use your mixture just like you would use regular embossing powder. The image will change colors with the heat, you'll be able to tell when it is ready. Then you just scratch and sniff! We used cherries, but you can use any flavor of Kool Aid!

On Saturday, Tracy had a little treat for us. It was so cute! I just had to show you! All the products were CTMH.

Scratch & Sniff Card

I know, it's been a while. I have excuses like my A/C was out for one week and I just haven't done anything.... However, I have been working on sorting all my Disney pictures! I went through and picked which photos I want on what page and now as I print them, they are ready to be laid out pages (the preplanning process) then I can go back and actually make the pages! The good news is I'm finally finished sorting! The bad news is I now have 92 pages to do!

I went to a CTMH class on Saturday and we made a scratch and sniff card! It was really neat! Here is the card and the cherries are what you scratch! Since this was done in a class, it is not my design! I just did what I was told! All products are CTMH!

Tag

This month at Paper Crafting Mania, we swapped tags instead of cards! The tag was to be summer themed. This is the tag that I made. I used CM paper. All images were cut with Everyday Paper Dolls and inked with Colorbox chalk ink. The "sand" was hand torn. The face is a Peachy Keen stamp and the sun is a sticker from CM. I cut the actual tag from Very Merry Tags.

Trifold Shutter card

Another CTMH class card! I just LOVE these cards! I've only made 2, both in classes. Maybe someday I'll try one by myself! All products were CTMH.

Horse Birthday Card

This is a card that I made for my Sister-in-law's birthday. She really likes horses. I wasn't real happy with this card, but she'll like it! The horses and star was cut from Old West. I cut the horses in a brownish gray color and then I inked them with Colorbox chalk ink to achieve the shading and different coloring in them. I also used the Dark brown chalk ink to ink the edges of the card. The stamp is SU and the ink for the stamp is CTMH. The horseshoe paper is Creative Imaginations. The base card is kraft paper from SU.
