Mahalo Card

After thinking about this card for 2 days, I finally got it made!  I made it for these 3 challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut-Challenge #61 Blue Skies-use the color blue and 1 cloud
My Creative Time-Use an "older" cartridge and the colors green and yellow
Scrappy Moms Stamps- Terrific Tuesday-use Life's A Beach

This a 5 1/4" square card.  I cut the chair at 2 1/2", umbrella at 2 3/4", sun at 2", and the cloud and beach ball each at 1".  I inked the edges of everything.  I used my Creative Memories decorative trimmer to cut the sand paper.  I pop dotted the cloud up.

Birthday Card

I finally made another card!  This one is for my brother's birthday next week.  This is just a standard A2 sized card.  I cut the boot at 3".  I inked the edges of all the pieces with Chestnut Roan and used my CM brown pen to connect the cuts to get the pattern on the boots.  I really wanted this card to have the sentiment "Kick Up Your Heels."  I looked for over a week at stores and on line.  I never did find a stamp set with that sentiment, so I just made it myself!  I have NEVER done that before!  It's not great, but it's for my brother and he won't care!

Recipe:
Cuts-Old West
Pattern paper-My Mind's Eye
Cardstock-Coordinations, Creative Memories
Ink-Colorbox
Punch-Stampin' Up, Curly Label
Twine-from LSS
Kraft Paper-Stampin' UP

Thank you for a Teacher card

I have decided that along with my new blog colors, I am going to try a new way of posting.  I am also going to cut down on my labels.  Let me know if you like this way better!

Today I made a card that will work for 3 different challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut-Teacher Feature-use the color red
My Creative Time-Throwback Thursday-use Doodlecharms and the color blue
My Craft Spot-Bling It Up!-use something shiny!
I cut the apple at 3" and the worm at 2 1/5".  I inked the edges of everything, even though you can really only see it on the green.  I added a scrap piece of white glitter paper to make the accent on the apple.  I added googly eyes to the worm and pop dotted him up.

Recipe:
Apple from Doodlecharms
Worm from Create A Critter
All of the paper was from my scrap pile!
Edges inked with Colorbox chalk ink
Punch from Stampin' Up
Stamp from Close To My Heart
Ink from Stampin' Up
Pearls from Recollections

MPS Challenge 5

Challenge #5-make a 3D item.  This is the last one! YAY!  I did all 12!  I wasn't going to do this one, but it was the only one I didn't do and it has a really great prize!  I thought I was cutting a cupcake wrapper from Sweet Treats, but I hit fit to page and it is 11" big!  So, maybe I now have a really cute container for my scrapping area!  All the cuts are from Sweet Treats!

I am now done and I am taking tomorrow off! :)

MPS Challenge 9

Challenge #9-use glitz, glam, and glitter!  My picture is not very good, but the green (My Mind's Eye) paper and the white (DCWV) are glittery.  I used Sweet Treats for the cuts.  I used a texture plate from SU to give the cone some depth.  The stamp is Scrappy Mom's.

MPS Challenge 12

Challenge #12-make a project with a kid theme.  The challenge on Paper Playtime this week is to make a 9x4 card.  I have been wanting to make a card with my Toy Story cartridge, so I figured this bigger card would be the way to go.  I cut Woody at 6".  The pieces were still incredibly small!  But, I think the card turned out really cute!  The printed paper is from Creative Imaginations.  The stamp and ink are CTMH.

MPS Challenge 11

Challenge #11-use pink, green, and black on your project.  Much harder than it sounds!  I got the sketch from the Mojo Monday blog.  I am also using this for the challenge at Cardztv.   I used Block Party for my cuts.  The green print paper is from Creative Imaginations.  I inked the edges of the watermelon to give it some depth.  The stamps is from Scrappy Mom's using CTMH ink.  The cardstock was all scraps, but the pink is melon mambo from SU.

MPS Challenge 10

Challenge #10-make a layout or card with a pet in it.  My aunt who LOVES cats has a birthday next month!  This challenge was purr-fect!  (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)  I used Create A Critter for my cuts.  The birthday paper is from Imaginisce and all the rest came from my scraps!  I used fibers from my LSS for the fringe on the pillow and her collar.  I had already posted this when I realized that I forgot the googly eyes...You have to have googly eyes, it just makes it so much cuter!  (I redid the post!)

MPS Challenge 6

Challenge #6-incorporate a tag into your project.  On my layout, I tucked a tag behind one of the pictures for the journaling box.  The paper is Bo Bunny.  I used Chipboard with SU ink for the "S", the rest of the word Sweet was cut with Don Juan (my favorite font!)  I used CM cardstock and cut the tag from Very Merry Tags.

Here is a close up of the tag.  The embellishment is from EK Success.

MPS Challenge 8

Challenge #8 was to be a summer themed project.  I made this card using My Mind's Eye paper, with CM cardstock.  I used Accent Essentials to cut the flower.  The stamp is Scrappy Mom's.

MPS Challenge 7

Challenge #7 was to make a scrapbook page.  Easy enough!  I did another page in my Disney album.  We took that trip a year ago and I still have not finished the album! :(  Here is my page.  I have no idea where this paper came from.  I was on retreat and they had a scrap station where you could leave things that you didn't want.  Needless to say, one lady's trash is another one's treasure!  The zebra paper is CM.  I cut Animal Kingdom using Don Juan.  The 3D embellishment is from the Paper Studio.

MPS Challenge 4

Challenge #4-Make something with a Mother's Day theme.  This will also work for the weekly challenge at Fantabulous Cricut.  I used Storybook to cut the lattice work.  I then used a CM punch to make the flowers.  I curled the flowers using the business end of my piercing tool.  I added the Paper Studio pearls for the centers.  The stamp and ink are from SU.  The paper is out of my scraps.

This will probably be my last post for today.  The NASCAR race will be starting soon!  I hope to get more done tomorrow!  Thanks for joining me!

MPS Challenge 3

Challenge #3 was to have a breast cancer theme.  After discovering that none of my cartridges or stamp sets have the ribbon on them, I improvised!  I cut hope from Home Decor.  The printed paper is My Mind's Eye and the cs is CM.  The frame is cut using SU's Top Note die.

MPS Challenge 2

Okay, yes, I am VERY slow!  I admit it!  Here is my entry for Challenge #2-use Kraft paper.  My kraft paper is SU, the printed paper is CM.  I used Alphalicious to cut Dad.  (I haven't used that cartridge in a LONG time!)  The stamps are CTMH.  I distressed the edges and used Tim Holtz Distress Ink on the edge of the kraft paper.

National Scrapbbok Day! My Pink Stamper Challenge 1

Welcome to National Scrapbook Day!  I hope that you will find some time to make a card or layout or some type of craft project today!  Today, I am going to be taking part in the challenges posted by Robyn over on My Pink Stamper.  This is Challenge #1-Anything Cupcake!  I have several birthdays in the next few months that I need cards for.  I thought this one would work great for my niece!  The printed paper is DCVW, the CS is SU.  I used Celebrations to cut the cupcake.  I also inked the edges and used Stickles for the sprinkles.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms.

Raceway Layout

Knowing that we are BIG race fans, it shouldn't surprise you that one of our most favorite rides at Disney was the Tomorrowland Speedway!  We rode it once at night and then again on our last day.  The red print paper is CM and the gold is SandyLion.  I used Cars to cut the journaling box and Jolee's dimensionals to embellish the page.  I used a picture of the Speedway sign as the title.

Tinkerbell page

Have you ever had a page that you could not find a color that the pictures looked good on?  This was one of those layouts.  The pictures were dark, but the colors were bright.  After looking for 2 days for paper at home, I finally gave up and went to JoAnn's and bought some more paper!  Turns out, this paper matched beautifully!  It's from Hot Off the Press and is called Finished in a Flash.  Once I got this paper, I was finished in a flash!  The letters are Thickers.

I have a really simple card for you today. I used SU paper, ink, stamps, and texture plates on this card!  The fibers are from my LSS and the flower is a dimensional from Marcella St K.

Goofin' Around!

I have another simple layout for you today.  I just love these pages, the colors turned out so well!  The paper is all CM.  I used Mickey Font and welded the shadow, but cut the letters individually.  The Goofy is from a really old piece of paper I had!  I cut him out and pop dotted him up!

Valentine Card

I did this card for the January swap at Paper Crafting Mania.  The theme was Valentine's.  I used Smiley Cards to cut the shapes.  (I just love this cartridge!  I wish there was a book, but it WAS free so I can't really complain!)  The paper is all SU.  The sentiment and ink is also SU.  The face stamps are from Peachy Keen Stamps.

Disney Layout

I thought I'd give y'all a break on the Valentine Cards!  This layout was done using scraps from the other pages.  I used Don Juan and Paisley for the words.  The arrows were cut from Accent Essentials.  This has turned out to be my most favorite layout so far.  I still have MANY more pages to go!

Popsicle Valentine

This will be my son's Valentine.  The challenge on Fantabulous Cricut this week was to incorporate something "sweet" into your project.  I immediately had this idea pop into my head!  I also used all scraps on my card, which was the Thursday challenge on Paper Crafting Mania!  All of the printed paper is BoBunny.  The cardstock is SU.  The inking was all done with Colorbox.  I used Doodlecharms for the popsicle and Just Because Cards for the sentiment.

Valentine Card

This is the Valentine that I made for my daughter.  The "I Love You" paper is Me & My Big Ideas and everything else is SU.  I used Storybook to cut the scalloped square, Paisley for the hearts and Very Merry Tags for the tag.  The silver heart is a SU stamp and colorbox ink.  The sentiment is from SU with SU ink!  This card also works with the challenge over at Paper Playtime.

Valentine Card

My friend, Sharon, and I made some cards this week.  She made one like this and I liked it so well that I had to scraplift it from her!  Of course, ours are a little different.  The cardstock in SU.  The printed paper is Me&My Big Ideas.  The hearts were cut with George, the month and date with Designer's Calendar and the key/lock are from Gypsy Wanderings.  We used Tim Holtz Distress Ink on the edge of the printed paper.

Wednesday was my birthday and I got some fabulous cards from some wonderful ladies!  I just had to share them with you!

Simple Layout

I consider myself to have a very simple scrapbooking style.  Sometimes that style becomes even simpler when the pcitures do all the talking!  This is my 2 page layout of Minnie Mouse's house.  I had a really good picture of the front of her house, so I didn't really see the need in piecing together all the layers of her house.  I did cut "Minnie" from Mickey and Friends and I had a Minnie sticker from CM that was the perfect size!  The paper is from AdornIt.

Disney Layout

While we were at Disney World, my nephew was also there with his high school's band.  We got to watch the band march down Main Street past the Castle and thru Frontier Land.  It was awesome!  How many kids actually get to do that?  We ran behind them and beside them trying to get pictures!  The title is SU chipboard letters that I colored using SU black craft ink then I sprayed them with my homemade glimmer mist!  (SU glimmer paint and alcohol) The vellum paper is from Joann's and the journaling box is CM.

Disney Layout

I am back after taking a few days break.  I did go to a crop on Saturday, so I have several layouts to share.  I have noticed that I don't really get comments on my layouts.  Y'all either don't like layouts or you don't like mine, but I'm sharing anyway!  This is my layout of Tom Sawyer Island.  I used Old West's board font to cut the title and then I took a sliver pen and put dots where the nails should be.  I also used Very Merry Tags to cut the tag, then I inked it with Colorbox ink and hand wrote "Explore" on it.  I tied it to the picture with Paper Trey Inc. rustic twine.  The green pattern is from CTMH and I also inked it.  The journaling box is CM.

Swap Card

The swap card for this month on Paper Crafting Mania was a New Year's Card.  I thought this theme was rather hard and I was running short on time, so I made a more generic card.  Hopefully, the receiver was not too disappointed.  I used SU cardstock, ink, and stamps for this card.  The ribbon is American Crafts.  I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder on the pink background.

Here is a shot of it with the tag extended:

Disney Layouts

I promised to post some of the pages I did.  Here are two of them. The red pattern and white pattern papers are from Creative Imaginations, the black is Sandy Lion.  The chipboard embellishments are from Disney.  I tried something new and put embossing powder on a Zot and heat embossed it, let is dry, and then used it for the centers of the chipboard.  It worked really well, but it would have looked better if I would have used the new Zots that are thicker.  The camera was cut from Create A Critter and the letters are Mickey Font.  I used my CM bubble maker to make the holes.

Snowy Delights Card

The challenge this week on Fantabulous Cricut was Snowy Delights.   We were to create a project and incorporate snow or snow flakes.  Now, I know that Christmas is over, but I'm getting a jump on next year!  The kraft paper, stamp, ink and imbossing folder are all from SU.  The red and green were from scraps and the silver chord is some that I bought a garage sale!  I used shimmer paint from SU to give the snow flakes some shine and the Bitty Sparkles are CTMH.  I used Accent Essentials to cut the frames for the sentiment.

Birthday Card

My nephew turned 16 just before Christmas.  I thought this would be an appropriate card for a 16 year old boy (his mom may not agree!) The stamps and ink are CTMH and the paper was scraps.

Goals for 2011

Did y'all think I'd dropped off the face of the Earth?  I had a rough month of December!  I'm glad that this holiday season is over!  I LOVE the holidays, but this one was  very stressful.

At the beginning of 2010, I set a goal to do 200 scrapbook pages.  So how'd I do?  I only did 120 pages, so 10 pages a month, not bad I guess, but definitely not my goal.  For 2011, I decided to be a little more reasonable and set a goal of 12 pages per month!  And I already have 2 done!  What is your goal for 2011?

I will also try to be better about posting. Check back later in the week to see some of the pages that I did last week!
