Layouts with LOTS of Pictures 2

Back to the layouts with lots of pictures. These are my pages about the Children's Parade they have in Dallas every year. I got the idea for these pages from Creative Sketches a sketch book by Creating Keepsakes. I liked this sketch book because it labeled it's sketches by the number of pictures the sketch used. I never copy a sketch exactly, but I used the books general idea. The paper is CM and the title is cut with Mickey Font.

Swap card

Here is the card that I did for Paper Crafting Mania's May swap. I got the idea from my Go to Sketches by PaperCrafts. The watermelon pulls out of the slot. I thought it was different, so I'd try it! The green paper and striped paper is My Mind's Eye, the pink is DCWV. I used accents from my sticker letters for the seeds! The stamp is CTMH. The pink ink is SU and the green is Studio G. The purple brads are Spare Parts.

Layouts with LOTS of pictures

I am getting to that time of year in my 2007 album where I have lots of pictures of everything! I am going to post some of pages over the next few days to give you an idea of how you can make pages with lots of pictures. I get very frustrated when I buy a magazine or see a sketch book and all their pages have 1-3 pictures on them. Don't they take pictures? Or do they just have HUGE albums!?
This page has no journaling box. The title pretty much says it all and I did have enough room to write everyone's name below the pictures! All of this paper is CM, the title was cut from Don Juan.

Birthday Card

I made this card as a swap card over on Paper Crafting Mania. I wasn't really sure if I liked it for the swap. (It was to be a cheery, Springy card.) After a few days, I made another card that I liked a lot better for the swap. (You can see that one once she gets it!) I used a texture plate from SU on the pink base SU cardstock to add some depth. The blue cardstock is CM and I used a SU border punch on it. The stamp and ink are also SU and the ribbon comes from Hobby Lobby.

Pictures in Sequence

This is a page that I did of a high school football game. Some how I managed to have all these pictures that went in a perfect sequence of the song they were doing. (Believe me, it was totally by accident!) I cut those pictures as small as possible and lined them up across the bottom. I put a patterned paper behind it to accent the sequence. Also, on this page is a picture of a local landmark (hint: it's no longer standing) I made sure that I did not cut that picture down, so that you could see Texas Stadium in the background. (One of these days, that will be really "ccol" that Amanda performed on the field at Texas Stadium!) I'm not sure who makes this Marching Band paper, it may have been Reminisce. The music note paper came from my friend Sharon, the title was cut with Graphically Speaking. The cardstock is CM.

Different Titles

I have been challenging myself lately to do different things. On these pages, I did a vertical title! It worked the best for the way I wanted my pictures. The paper is CTMH, the stickers came from Michaels, not sure who makes them, I cut the title using Mickey Font and my Gypsy.

Mickey card

One of the great ladies from Paper Crafting Mania sent me a really cool Mickey stamp set! I finally got around to making her a thank you note. I wanted to use the stamps she sent me for the card. I cut the thanks from Don Juan using the Paper Studio cardstock. Then I used the Mickey stamp set to stamp Mickey and "Aw, shucks." with SU ink. I then used my SU aquapainters and some red SU ink to color in Mickey's shorts. I used pop dots behind Mickey to make him look like he was laying on the letters. This is probably of the simplest cards I've made! Thanks Tanya!

Race day picture

Here is picture of Robert, me and Travis at the race on Monday. Notice Travis' shirt. He loves that M&M car drvien by Kyle Busch!

Card Sketch Wednesday

It has been forever since I've done one of these, but this the card that I made for the Wednesday Card Sketch Challenge over at Paper Crafting Mania. I used SU's real red for my base and the ink, the stamp is also SU and the punch. The rest of the paper was all scraps! The ribbon is Ribbon Trends.

Travis is 11 today!

Travis turns 11 today! In keeping with the theme of the weekend, I made him a NASCAR card! I actually cut 1" squares and made the background, then I used my CTMH stamps for the images with SU ink and added some brads and was good to go! All the paper came from my scrap box!

It's RACE Weekend in Texas!

Woo Hoo!! I'm at the track, but I thought I'd share a page that I did a couple of weeks ago about the race! I do at least 4 race pages in every album that I do. (I do a yearly album.) That is a LOT of black and white checkers! I saved some of that paper this time and used solid cardstock to help "stretch" my race paper! I cut my 12x12 piece in half and used half on one page and half on the other and then used cardstock for the other half. I used Don Juan to cut the title. The race is always a lot of fun. This shows all the fun that you can have on the "midway." The best part-all the games and simulators are FREE!

Sarah's Birthday Card

I made this card for my niece using Sweet Treats. I also used my Gypsy. The layers did not cut right. I have a hard time using my Gypsy when I need to layer something. I used Stickles on the flame to add some sparkle and a rhinestone to dot the "i" for some bling. I really wasn't very happy with this card, but thought I'd show it to you anyway. The green glitter paper is My Mind's Eye, the yellow cardstock is CM and I don't know about the others.

Use Your Old Tools!

This is a page that I did a few weeks ago. It is Amanda getting her Driver's License. As I was sitting trying to figure out what I wanted to do on this page, I remembered that I'd used the CM decorative trimmer to make a road once before on a page. I dug out my trusty old trimmer and blew the dust off! Then I cut my road and added the white stripe by hand. I then used Locker Talk (another oldie but goodie) and cut out the car and license. In Texas, if your under 18 your photo is a profile and it just so happened that I had a profile shot of her and it was jsut the right size! (Don't you just LOVE it when that happens!) I used some pop dots on the license and added my journaling box and my page was done! (It really took a couple of hours!) My friend Sharon liked it so well that she is going to copy it for her daughter's new truck page! All the paper was CM.

Happy Birthday Card

This is a card that I made for my SIL's birthday on Monday. I used a MOJO Monday sketch to design it. It will also work for a weekend challenge over on Paper Crafting Mania! I just love the way this turned out! Here are my measurements: Scalloped square is 5", the inside square is just slightly smaller than 4.5", the circle is 3.5", the inside squares are 2.5" and 2.25" and the green strip is 1.5". The card base is 4.25". I used DCWV new Flower Shower Spring Matstack for the pattern paper. Not sure about the cardstock. The ink and stamp are SU. The ribbon is American Crafts and the pearls are Recollections. I cut the scallop using Storybook.

Easter Treat Bags

I intended to get this picture posted before Easter, but as you can see, I did not. So, better late than never, right? These are the treat bags that I made for my kids and my nieces and nephew. The girls are the ones that look more like a flower and the boys are the square ones, I cut those from Storybook. I used DCWV paper and SU ink and stamp.

Frog Birthday Card

I promise that I am going to get out of my after vacation funk and start doing better! I did make this card last week, but then I never posted it! At least I remembered to take a picture of it! LOL! I made this card for one of my SIL. She loves frogs! The glitter paper is My Mind's Eye, the cardstock, ink and stamp are SU and the stickers are Marcella by K.
